CLOSING THE
ETHERNET GAP
IN SMART BUILDINGS
By Adnan Ahmed, RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, WD, Ronna Davis, and Bob Voss
Smart buildings have lofty goals. They promise to be safer, more efficient, more sustainable, and future ready.

power; lighting; heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC); information technology (IT); and data networks
to wherever they are needed, regardless of how the building is configured.
