TIME IS ALWAYS TICK ING
The ubiquitous tick—on the
quest in your backyard
Ticks are generally found near the ground, in brushy
or wooded areas. They climb tall grasses or shrubs
and wait for a potential host to brush against them.
This is called questing. Ticks then climb on
and attach themselves to the host.
How to protect your pet
Tick preventatives come in many does forms, like
chewable tablets and topical treatments. For extra
protection, there are vaccines available to protect against
Lyme Disease if the disease is prevalent in your area.
The best option is to talk to your vet. On top of prevention,
always check the temps and your pet!
