Please take some time to look through this brochure for opportunities for you and your family. The Board of Park Commissioners and the staff of the Morton Grove Park District were shocked as many of you at the news of the shooting in Highland Park on the Fourth of July. We at the park district place the safety of our patrons and staff as our number one concern. We are working with the Morton Grove Police Department to provide additional training to our staff . We also work with our risk management company to ensure we have the proper policies and protocols in place to ensure everyone is safe. We cannot foresee all events, but we can make sure our staff is prepared to respond accordingly in any event. I want to thank everyone who attended our community meetings for the master planning of Oketo Park. It is through input from the neighbors that will make this a wonderful plan to present to the State of Illinois' Department of Natural Resources' Open Space, Land Acquisition, and Development grant. It is because of your input that make the master plan the best it can be. Who better to decide what the park needs than its users? Community participation is vital for the park district to achieve its mission. Our mission is to complement our community's quality of life, economic capacity, health, and wellness through recreational opportunities while protecting natural resources. We often reach out to resident for their input. However, you do not have to wait for us to seek you out for your input. You can email any of our staff with comments or suggestions. Our website homepage's banner has a link to all staff 's email in the "About Us" dropdown. If you want to contact the board, you can email us at board@mgparks.com. Over the last month, we have completed repairs of the tennis court at Harrer Park and the basketball courts at Austin, Shermer, Prairie View, Harrer, and Mansfi eld Parks. The tennis courts at Harrer Park now feature two dedicated pickleball courts. We will continue to repair basketball and tennis courts in other parks to ensure safe and enjoyable playing by those who use them. Don't forget our monthly board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:30pm. An annual meeting calendar with specifi c dates is on our website. Steve Schmidt President
