Every time I see my grandkids, I ask them what they are thankful for. My grandson told me one time, "Papa Joe, that is too hard to think about right now." Looking back over the past year, it is easy for me to think of people or actions that I am thankful for. A recent experience I'm thankful for is when several employees were in the right place at the right time to save a life. On August 5, two of our employees were in an office with a window when one of them noticed a woman pull up near the window, drag a young man out of the car, and begin performing CPR. e employees grabbed the AED equipment and ran out to help. One called 911 and our security, and someone alerted our in-house nurse practitioner, who ran out and aided with chest compressions and rescue breaths. After a while, the young man started breathing again, sat up, and, with some help, got into the ambulance. ey literally breathed life back into that young man! We are all so grateful that Redstone has an onsite clinic, that it offers opportunities to get CPR certified, and that AED equipment is readily available. It took a frantic Friday afternoon to remind me how blessed our Redstone team members are, as they live the Credit Union motto of "People Helping People." I'm thankful for our first responders. Each year, we host a barbeque lunch for them and are able to thank them for their hard work and dedication. We've been hosting them since 2015 as part of our National First Responders Day recognition. Over the past two years, we have served 1,408 meals, and we look forward to serving them again on October 14 at our Wynn Drive branch and on October 28 at our Medical Center branch in Murfreesboro. I'm thankful for the service we provide our members and the community every day. When I look at our commitments to United Way, area schools, and community nonprofits that help the homeless, sick, and veterans – my heart is full! p. 4 | Celebrate With Girls Inc. p. 8 | Annual Holiday Gift Guide p. 15 | Meet Santa Gordon Send your comment s, suggestions or questions to: ASPIRE@REDFCU.ORG facebook.com/RedstoneFCU twitter.com/RedstoneFCU Editor: Patricia Dedrick Lloyd TABLE OF CONTENTS 2 | r e d f c u.o r g Must be eligible for membership and open a share savings account to obtain any product or service.
