The federal American Rescue Act Plan (ARPA) granted Oklahoma's state government $1.8B to disburse to help mitigate the pandemic's negative economic impacts . OKCNP was the sector's voice to lawmakers and ARPA decision-makers, informing them of the one-two punch nonprofits received from the pandemic - losing critical funding and a skyrocketing demand for services. The combination left organizations in financial turmoil and unable to operate at full capacity . Our advocacy efforts helped lawmakers see the need for relief funding , which led them to pass the $25M ARPA Nonprofit Relief Program. ARPA's application process gave The Center another opportunity to act as the nonprofit sector's convener. During dozens of statewide sector calls and hundreds of helplines , we informed organizations on how to apply, explained the review process and showed them how they could advocate for themselves. ---------------------- 13 ----------------------
