After several years of trials and turmoil , the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is looking forward towards growth, a new home and expanded services. The worldwide pandemic and subsequent economic downturn created a tsunami of increased demands , decreased funding and a shrinking workforce . Instead of surrendering to the storm, our sector fought and conquered it at every turn . The trials made us stronger , more cohesive and better prepared to face what is yet to come . With that knowledge, The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits stands filled with hope and ready to serve our state's nonprofit sector . As Oklahoma's preeminent nonprofit membership and training organ ization , we served hundreds of organizations in the past year while concurrently training thousands of their employees . Our highly dedicated staff provided resources, advice and consulting about the ever-changing financial, political and professional environments . We brought the prestigious Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy Certificate in Fundraising Management to our members and will soon offer a new advocacy curriculum . The nonprofit sector is a vital part of Oklahoma 's economy, and we believe its health is crucial to a strong state . Our decision to purchase a new building in the heart of Oklahoma City 's Innovation District reflects this belief . The building will serve as a nonprofit hub, with 60% of its space available for our members ' and partners' use. More than 8.000 square feet is specially designed for co-working and collaboration . It will stand as a testament to nonprofits and our comm itment to serving them . Our advocacy and policy efforts remain invaluable while nonprofits unravel and navigate the pandemic 's long-term impacts. We have never wavered in our support of nonprofits receiving a portion of the state's federal COVID-19 relief funding . With delight , we can report that our sector received $25 million from ARPA with hopes for more . The Oklahoma Department of Commerce asked The Center to partner and help adv ise on the funding 's disbursement, which is a new avenue for us to serve our members and sector . Although we still confront the effects of years past, we believe in and have a hope-filled future because of partners like you. Your gifts support The Center and professional development for our state's nonprofit sector , impacting countless Oklahomans .
