16 Our Ministries T he political arena of the world is our mission field. Capitol Ministries is working to estab- lish discipleship, Bible-study based ministries at all levels of government in the United States and in foreign nations. We are teaching the Bible every week to city and county public servants, state legislators and constitutional officers, U.S. representatives and senators, policy makers and parliamentarians. We are achieving and increasingly expanding this bold objective by recruiting dedicated, Bible- teaching evangelists as ministry leaders. We pair them with Christian public servants who sponsor the ministries, provide a meeting place inside the government building for weekly studies, and in- vite their colleagues to attend. Political leaders of all races, political parties, and religious affiliations are welcome and participate. Our ministry leaders teach the Scriptures book by book, verse by verse, every week. ey lead in-depth, exegetical Bible studies and provide a careful analysis of passages, discuss historical and cultural context, and explain original Greek and Hebrew words to clarify the verse's intended meaning. As the Bible directs, we teach the whole purpose of God (Acts 20:27) and do not avoid unpopular topics. With a commitment to evan- gelism, ministry leaders lead public servants to the truth and disciple them to maturity in the faith. ey also pray with and for public servants, provide counseling when needed, friendship, and pastoral care. To illustrate our mission, we use the all-Ameri- can icon, the baseball diamond. THIRD BASE represents ministries to local, re- gional, and federal leaders in foreign nations. So far we have established ministries in more than 40 nations and are in the process of launching min- istries in 28 additional countries on foreign soil. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ at every stratum of government in every nation. Every week, public servants are studying the Bible in city halls and county chambers in America's neighborhoods, in state capitols, and on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and around the world. Our Ministries "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
