Pastor Hanson had led the Ohio ministry by himself until 2019 when he was also named CapMin international direc- tor. His duties included overseeing existing ministries and growing CapMin in other nations. As that required quite a bit of travel, Pastor Hanson tapped his good friend Pastor Solomon to co-lead the Ohio study. Every week, between 8 and 22 legislators participate in the Bible studies. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic and meeting restrictions, legislators desired to continue to meet face-to-face. Aer seeing a "hunger and thirst" for the Word of God among Statehouse legislative aides and staff, the pas- tors began the brown-bag lunch-time Bible study for them. e study began with six legislative aides and has grown to as many as 16 staff members participating weekly. Pastor Han- son and Pastor Solomon are working to add a Bible study to state senators. In late 2021, Pastor Solomon also was appointed by Cap- Min Board of Directors to oversee established ministries and ministry growth in the U.S. and Canada as director for North America. In addition to the decades of experience in churches and with other ministries, both men have a passion to help fulfill the Great Commission by evangelizing, ministering to, and discipling public servants. "I want to pastorally care for the members of either party and try to help them in their rela- tionship with the Lord Jesus Christ," Pastor Hanson said. "I want them to know there is a spiritual presence they can trust and come to. ey need to be shepherded, and most of all, I want them to know the Word of God." Pastor Solomon said the impact of teaching God's Word to political leaders is tremendous. "My prayer is that the Lord would use our efforts to see lost people come to Christ, to embolden Christian political leaders to follow Him more faithfully in their work, and to have a gospel impact on the trajectory of our state and country. "God's Word has the answers for the problems of life, and somebody needs to point political leaders to where those answers lie. Reaching political leaders for the cause of Jesus Christ is the most important mission field of our day." OHIO Skyline of Columbus, Ohio OHIO State Capitol Ministries 23
