International Ministries 35 Oscar Zamora Latin America Director Orlando, Florida Latin America Training Conference Panama City, Panama October 3–7, 2022 Coming Up A irports were closed across the continents, and meeting and travel restrictions associated with the pandemic posed their own problems, but despite those barriers, Oscar Zamora stayed on course this year and found creative ways to establish new ministries in Latin American nations, as well as strengthen existing ones. Oscar led Internet Zoom meetings, networked with the many friends he's made in the political and faith com- munities, and employed other creative methods to recruit Bible-teaching evangelists and spread the word about Cap- Min's mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ among polit- ical public servants. rough his efforts, two new ministries were launched in Latin America nations in 2021. Husband and wife ministry teams were chosen to establish disciple- ship ministries to their nation's federal leaders in Colombia in South America and Guatemala in Central America. e ministry leaders will participate in a required Capitol Min- istries' Training Conference in Panama City in October of 2022. ese new ministries are added to the Bible-study based ministries Oscar has already helped to launch in Hon- duras, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Costa Rica since he was named global director of Latin America in 2017. is year Elizabeth Zamora, Oscar's wife and ministry partner, was named supervisor of the transla- tors around the world who translate CapMin's Bible studies, brochures, books, training manuals, and other publications into Russian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. While complications due to COVID-19 made recruit- ment a little more difficult, the time remains right for Latin American political leaders to turn their hearts to God, Oscar said. "By God's grace, the time is right to take the Word of God to political leaders not only in Latin America, but, as is CapMin's mission, around the world," he said. "Political leaders are no different from anyone else in that we are all in need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Elizabeth and I are so honored to be a part of Capitol Ministries and its mission, which we know is part of God's agenda for the world today!" In addition, due to the increasingly worsening econom- ic and political situation in Peru, Oscar and Elizabeth have moved to Florida with the help of their daughter (who is a U.S. citizen) and Capitol Ministries. e Zamoras can travel to all the Latin American nations via the Miami and Hous- ton airports.
