10 From the Chair O n behalf of the Board of Directors and leadership, thank you for the trust you have placed in Capitol Ministries for a quarter of a century. Over these past 25 years, with the benefit of your prayers and support, the mission of Capitol Ministries has grown from a single Bible study to legislators in one U.S. state capitol to a burgeoning international ministry. We are mindful that every donation we receive from you is an investment in our work to fulfill the Great Commission. We have not spent money on bricks and mortar. Rather, we heavily invest our resources in people and in our mission to create disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena throughout the world. We invest in recruiting and training Bible-study teachers who have the hearts of evangelists, and we pair them with Christian public servants who sponsor their ministries and provide a meeting place. It is this mission that results in the best possible return on investment in the form of souls who are secured in eternity and the development of mature-in-the faith political leaders—disciples of Jesus Christ. e happy consequence of good governance includes a stable society that reflects God's precepts, a reversal of America's down- ward spiral, and a return to a nation that better reflects the one estab- lished by the Founding Fathers. "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other," wrote John Adams, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights and our second President. We also invest in biblical resources such as Ralph's books and the Bible studies that he distributes every week to our national leaders in Washington, D.C. ese studies are in addition to the three separate studies Ralph teaches in person every week to U.S. political leaders. I invite you to download the studies from our website, capmin.org, or request that they be sent to you every week via email. In-depth and filled with sound teaching, these Bible studies will enrich your life, help to increase your faith, and increase your knowledge of God's Word. I am pleased to report that this year, as in past years, under Ralph's leadership and the blessings of our Lord, the ministry continues on a consistent path of growth. You will read some of the inspiring stories on the following pages. e board has met the challenges associated with such growth with diligence and has responsibly managed the resources that God has given us. is year, as in past years, we have kept up with mounting expenses. e ministry has no debt. You will find detailed financial information on page 49. Another reason Capitol Ministries has been blessed with successful expansion over these years is due in large part to excellent board members who have given freely of their time, talents, skills, and sound counsel. is year we said goodbye to faithful and com- mitted board members who have rotated off the board. We are thankful for the service of Steve Taylor, Michele Bachmann, and the late Dan Madison. And to the board, we welcome Danielle Madison Drollinger, co-founder of Capitol Ministries and the late Dan Madison's daughter. As we begin our 26th year in ministry, I am grateful for the support you have provided in so many ways, including your much appreciated prayers and your financial contributions. Your gis are enabling us to expand our mission to teach God's Word to the political lead- ers whose decisions greatly impact societies and determine the course for the world. I eagerly look forward to working together with you in the years to come as our Lord reveals His wonderful plans for this ministry. In Him, Rob Hilarides From the Chair
