The university's mission to serve students, in
partnership with the greater community, has
deep roots. Founded through the collaborative
efforts of the Sisters of Providence, the Ursuline
Sisters, the Bishop of Great Falls, and the greater
community, UP continues to provide higher
education today to those who can most benefit
from a caring Catholic community. Faculty are
guided by principles of social justice, human
dignity, and peace.
Our Roots Run Deep
The University Center is our front door to the
community—including local businesses, students
and parents, alumni, and friends. Our beautiful, 44-
acre campus is the backyard. As part of your visit,
enjoy our serene Providence Plaza, featuring five
waterfalls representing the five Sisters of Providence.
We offer coffee and snack kiosks, campus dining,
and full catering services for your event, as well
as a community theater, library, and residence
halls. Also, come cheer on the Argos athletic
teams on campus fields or in the McLaughlin
Center. Various other meeting and event sites
are scattered across campus.
As Great Falls' only four-year university, the University
of Providence is Central Montana's hub for learning,
collaborating, celebrating, and joining together.
