The SFA has expanded and renamed its former What's New, What's Hot! area into Spotlight Showcases, with shelf displays of products in seven segments to make it easier for buyers to shop the Fancy Food Shows. The new segments are: • New Product: Products that have been introduced into the marketplace within 6 months of the Winter Fancy Food Show (July 1, 2022). • Diversity-Owned: Products from exhibiting companies that are woman-, Black-, BIPOC-, LGBTQ+-, veteran-, or disability-owned. • Foodservice: Products that are available to sell to foodservice channels (egs. restaurants, hotels, stadiums and events, universities). • Beverage: Ready-to-drink and non-ready-to- drink beverages. • Fresh and Frozen: Packaged products typically offered in refrigerated or frozen departments. • Grocery: Packaged products typically offered in center-store grocery departments. • Seasonal & Holidays: Spring and Summer seasonal items Participants have also opted to feature a product listing in the Spotlight Showcases section of this issue of Specialty Food magazine and in the Official Winter Fancy Food Show Guide. The Spotlight Showcases area on-site at the Winter Fancy Food Show will also feature special display cases where the SFA Trendspotter Panel will curate on-trend and innovative products throughout Show days, January 15-17. The Trendspotter Panel is made up of buyers, foodservice professionals, market researchers, R&D experts, food educators, and writers, who will comb the exhibit hall in search of new and emerging product and ingredient trends. The Specialty Food Association has teamed up with The Food Institute, a trusted source for industry news, data, and trends, to provide live event coverage at the Winter Fancy Food Show. SFA first partnered with FI on this pilot broadcast project at the Summer 2022 Fancy Food Show to facilitate an interactive, multi-dimensional experience for both in-person and virtual audiences. Live coverage from the Show floor will include interviews with SFA staff, exhibitors, buyers, industry insiders, trendspotters, 2023 Leadership Award winners, and more. It will take place Sunday, January 15 and Monday, January 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesday, January 17 from 12 to 1 p.m. "We're so pleased to collaborate again with a trusted source like The Food Institute to expand our coverage of the Winter Show to showcase the products, trends, and people that make this a must-see event," says Denise Purcell, SFA's vice president, resource development. The on-site coverage team will be anchored by Susan Choi, FI's director of digital media, and a veteran TV journalist whose resume includes stints at ABC News and NBC News. FI will also have a team of on-the-ground reporters and analysts conducting live interviews from different locations on the Show floor and providing commentary on the latest trends that could shape the specialty food industry in the months and years ahead. "We had great audience feedback from the pilot broadcast at the 2022 Summer Fancy Food Show," says FI CEO Brian Choi. "We're happy to be working with SFA once again to make the 2023 Winter Show livestream even better—with more live event coverage, more insightful content, and greater interactivity with both virtual and in-person audiences." Attendees can experience the livestream via specialtyfood.com, the Association's Fancy Food Show app and SFA Feed app, and on SFA's YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook platforms. In-person attendees can also visit the SFA Media Center on the Show floor. Participants can ask questions and leave comments both in-person and virtually.
