Oakville Kitchen
A custom new build located in the
picturesque community of Oakville,
Ontario. The kitchen is designed with a
high level of customization and attention to
detail, from millwork to custom features,
premium hardware and natural stone.
A major challenge in the design process
was striking a balance between the
differing styles and preferences of the
home owners. One preferred traditional
and opulent, while the other tended toward
the simplicity of modern Scandinavian
design. This positive friction ultimately
resulted in the unique Art Deco-Modern
style that the kitchen inherited. This was
achieved using luxurious materials such as
walnut and brass cabinets in sleek modern
profiles.
The combination of the black and gold
leathered belvedere granite used in the
servery and island juxtaposes the light
arebescato marble used in the kitchen
perimeters and pantry. The brass hood over
the La Cornue range acts as a focal point
for the space, drawing your eye into the
front of the island while tying into the brass-
clad servery.
A stand-out feature of the kitchen, the
servery acts as a threshold tying the kitchen
in to the dining room and various brass
elements throughout the rest of the home.
The result: modern luxury. The perfect
contiguity of opulence and grandeur with
simplicity and modernity.
