Graduation Party on a Budget
I want to throw my child a fabulous graduation party, but my budget
is already tight due to graduation and college admission expenses.
What can I do?
Budgets are tight for many of us this year. First, determine how much you
can spend. Next, talk with your child about his or her expectations in light
of that budget.
Other tips to consider:
• Budget – Co-host the event with a friend who's the parent of another
graduate. Splitting the cost means your budget will go further.
• Venue – Choose a low-cost venue, such as your home, community
center, or clubhouse.
• Food – Have family and friends donate the food as their gift.
• Décor – Keep it simple and fun. Consider dollar stores or online sites
for your best deals.
