"He would come home understandably moody and tired and would disappear for hours to seek solitude and solace," says Eyer-A nderson. "I was fascinated and would sneak in and watch him, knowing that he really wanted his privacy, but I couldn't help it," she COVER ARTIST SUSAN EYER-ANDERSON For more information on cover artist Susan Eyer-Anderson visit www.susaneyeranderson.com Congratulations to Susan Eyer-Anderson for being our 2023 Portfolio cover artist! says. It didn't take much for her father to indulge her intrigue. "Once he realized I wasn't going any where and was keeping ver y quiet, he would set up a small canvas and thus began my education," she says. Susan's parents were professional artists; her mother was a portrait painter, and her father was a landscape artist. Both graduated from the A rt Center in Pasadena. "I absorbed most of what I know from them," she says. "I actually learned about color theor y at a ver y early age. I was painting and drawing before I could read or write, maybe even talk," she mused. Aside from some amazing junior high and high school art teachers, Susan credits her parents for her artistic talent. "Pre y much ever ything I know about art came from watching my mother and father paint," says Susan. Inspiration Photo of an Andalusian stallion taken by Karen Broemmelsick.
