"Since I was a teenager, my eye was drawn to the lay of the land, to ridgelines, and tree lines, and details," says Eric. "Landscapes and nature, in general, have always aracted my eye." e style of how light hits his subjects is important to him. is is evident in his Mission Mountain Sunset piece. He captured the image last year in which beautiful clouds rise above the snowy Mission Mountains, and the light perfectly plays off McDonald Peak and the wide Flathead River below. It's an image he spent six years and many springs trying to capture driving down from Whitefish, waiting for the weather, light, and clouds to cooperate. Eric has several photographs at this year's show, and his pieces can take up a lot of space. His images range from seven feet wide down to 12" by 16" framed pieces. He will be the only artist in the Russell Room at the Holiday Inn. As with all the Western Heritage Artists, Eric has been honored to be a part of the Footprints On e Trail Art Show and Sale for several years. "I think it's really cool that now I'm part of puing my own footprints on the trail ahead of the prints that came behind me," he says.
