or 35 years, the March in Montana Auction and Dealer Show has been known for
bringing high-quality and hard-to-find western art pieces and collectors' items to
Western Art Week. e 36th year is no exception, as it offers those that appreciate and
collect art a chance to view and purchase fine Western and historical paintings,
sculptures, contemporary art, and Cowboy and Indian collectibles.
As in the past, this year's show is located at the Elks Lodge in downtown Great
Falls. It's an appropriate location as the legendary western artist himself, Charlie
Russell, was made an honorary lifetime member of the Elks Lodge of Great Falls in
1908. e show runs ursday, March 16th, through Sunday, March 19th. You can
preview items on ursday before the fast-paced live auctions kick off on Friday and
Saturday at 11:00 AM.
March in Montana Auction and Dealer Show is put on by Coeur d'Alene Galleries, a
family operation owned by Managing Partner Ron Nicklas, his wife Tori Nicklas, and his
daughter and son-in-law, Shawny and Buddy Le. Ron can't say enough about the wonderful
selection of 760 items they bring to this year's show. "e thing we're most excited about is the
overwhelming collection of Native American items we have. It's double what we've had in the past
and includes high-quality items collectors don't normally see," says Ron. e highlight of these will be
many Native American pieces from the late 1800s.
Visit the show for a rare opportunity to see and purchase large "Montana lodge" sized woven rugs.
Also featured are paintings and bronzes from some of the best Native American artists in Montana
history, including a large collection of William Standing's work and other artists from the early 1900s.
