Karen Knoles - Indian Pearls • 16" x 12" Oil
March in Montana organizers are proud of the sporting art featured at the show, including a large
fishing scene by Bre Smith entitled Summer On e Creek. Smith uses transparent watercolor, oil
paints, and etching to create sometimes exciting, sometimes peaceful scenes of hunting and fishing
drawn from his own experiences in the woods.
e exquisite items at this year's show go beyond the canvas. Five rare woodcarvings by Montana's
iconic Native American artist, John L. Clarke, will be featured. Deaf and mute from the age of two
aer a bout with scarlet fever, Clarke went on to become a celebrated carver of the wildlife he
watched around his home in western Montana.
