THIRD PLACE / PRIMARY BATH
Villa Condo
With this design we strove to express our clients' sophisticated lifestyle.
The couple were moving from the West Coast to their new residence in
Florida and wanted a new residence that would supply luxury and comfort
through an improved floor plan layout, home automation, and high-end
construction finishes.
The existing space had his and hers bathrooms, and one side lacked
access to natural light. Our clients' complaints included lack of storage,
poor lighting, and outdated finishes.
With these premises in mind, we envisioned a unified room that would
make efficient use of the available area by maximizing storage, with avant-
garde equipment and technology, and as an added value, would allow
natural light to flood the bathroom space.
As a welcoming feature, the accent wall and ceiling wood paneling
(water-resistant) would cover a custom bathtub. His/her sinks with vanities
at either side of the entrance would supply a sense of symmetry. Robern
medicine cabinets and full-height closets at each side of the tub would
support storage.
The window into the shower area frames beautiful city views. We equipped
the area with built-in seating, modern shower systems, niche shelving, and
transparent glass enclosures that ensure natural light floods the whole
space. A water-resistant window blackout supplies privacy as needed.
The heated floor, window blackout, lighting, and sound systems in the
bathroom integrate to the home automation system to supply an added
sense of luxury, comfort, and innovation through technology.
All seating areas supply ADA custom grab bars and/or accessible
surfaces for needed aging-in-place comfort, without sacrificing the
luxurious look.
To meet the need for privacy on the approach to the space, we custom-
designed sliding doors that integrate into the wood paneling system. A
custom millwork piece supports the visual transition from the bedroom,
while holding a revolving TV panel that serves both bedroom and bathroom.
We also created a "powder room" (with smart bidet/toilet and pedestal
sink), separated from the main area by translucent Soji glass panels to
support added privacy.
