Reconnecting after COVID
After three long years of virtual get-togethers,
UI COM alumni returned to the Chicago campus in
October for the first in-person reunions since 2019.
There was a lot to celebrate—including a 50-year reunion for the Class of 1972 and belated 50-year reunions
for the Classes of 1970 and 1971. More than 200 alumni with milestone graduation anniversaries gathered to
reconnect, reminisce and swap stories about their student days.
Earlier in the month, members of UICOMR's Class of 1975—the first class to graduate from the Rockford
campus—joined nearly 500 fellow alumni, faculty members, administrators and friends for an all-alumni reunion
and 50th-anniversary celebration (see photos on opposite page and Celebrating 50 Years of Education,
Innovation and Service on page 35).
