As equine practitioners,
most of us have likely visited
barns where fly populations
are challenging for both
horses and veterinarians.
These flies can also pose
serious health risks to
the horses in our care. In
addition to being vectors
for disease transmission,
some insects can also leave
behind parasite larvae that
fester into painful, difficult-
to-treat summer sores.
