As previously stated, events such as NSL are a barn-raising, and only possible when the community comes together to make something cool. Overall, NSL 2023 could be declared a success. It was a weekend full of good flights, good food, and good company. e SLV Rocketeers will be hosting again in 2024, and their intent is to always make the event bigger, better, and smoother than the year previous. is could not be done with- out the support of all those who attended, and we look forward to seeing you all again all of which were essential in making the weekend fun, and many of whom donated to the raffle. Notably, the local 4H "Udderly Delightful" Goat Club kept the rocketeers fed and hydrated with their concession booth-—an important part of any success- ful launch weekend. e final day of flights was Monday. Despite being the end of the event, there was still a decent turnout, including three flights with M motors. As the event was wrapping up, it was time to announce the winners of the spudloing competition. e rules of spudloing are simple: At- tempt to fly a potato (donated by Aspen Produce of Center, Colorado) as close to the target altitude as possible, without causing too much damage to it. e winner for the low target spudlo was Betty Dall. She was a returning champion, having won the 2021 low target spudlo as well. Sec- ond place went to Patrice Wullschleger and third to Ed Wullschleger. In an unforeseen plot twist, Joe Hinton overshot the low tar- get spudlo by such a wide margin that he won the high target spudlo instead.
