SIGNATURE MONTANA | 17
tells a story of the past. He once built a fully functional bar that was a
made-to-scale model of a 1920s Great Northern caboose. His 'How
the West Was Fun' sideboard, made of walnut, reclaimed barn wood,
and vintage ammunition boxes, features drawer pulls craed from
vintage bullet casings.
A fully mechanical target game built with restored heavy-duty vintage parts
combines carved wildlife and whittled bear silhouettes, an original painting,
and more. This collectible art piece made by Brad Greenwood in a limited
edition of fifty has a vintage Western flair.
Cabinet by John Felten is made of curly maple with walnut accents and
marquetry flowers and butterfly. The thatch design inside each door is made
of approximately 1,500 individual pieces per door, placed one at a time.
'Much of the inspiration for my work comes from items and scenes from
nature," he says, "but the art of marquetry is itself inspirational. The process
of arranging and assembling small pieces of various colored and textured
veneers into a leaf, a bird, or a mountain scene is both consuming
and challenging."'
