When counting my
blessings, I regularly
include the city,
county, and community
where I live. Isn't it
wonderful, however, that
community is so much
more than a locality?
Community is a feeling of belonging and
identity, where you can lean on one another,
lift, and protect the most vulnerable. Simply
speaking, it's "People Helping People" – the
credit union philosophy.
When we asked you – our members and
friends – to nominate people in your
community who are doing wonderfully
selfless things for others, you came through.
Nominations poured in from throughout
North Alabama and Middle Tennessee. You
told us about those who do so much for
others. We call them Community Champions,
and we recently recognized five of them in a
special ceremony.
