Are you setting clients
up for success or failure?

After diagnosing a cat's renal disease, the veterinarian discussed the need for a
therapeutic diet and answered the client's questions. The technician talked with the
client about how to transition to the new food and provided a handout. Then the
technician spoke these terrible words that lead to compliance failure, "If your cat
doesn't like the food, we offer a money-back guarantee." Despite good intensions,
the technician created a client perception that the cat won't eat the food.
