SIGNATURE MONTANA | 43 On a MEDEVAC operation of a civilian hit by a Taliban mortar blast during an aack on Combat Outpost Lowell, Justin pioneered the use of in-flight ultrasonography, deploying the technique for the first time and saving the civilian's life in the process. He went on to publish a journal article about the procedure. With a growing desire to return to Montana, Justin completed his military service in 2010 and moved back to the Treasure State to continue his medical practice. Having spent the beer part of a decade providing care to thousands of Montanans during their emergency department visits, around 2018, he was looking for a new challenge when he came across an intriguing building for sale, e Paris at 321 Central Ave in Great Falls. Much like Justin's family history, the Paris' pedigree in Montana goes back quite a ways. Completed in 1928, the structure has been a downtown fixture for nearly a century. Art Deco was the dominant style of the day, and many of these artistic flourishes can still be seen throughout the building. Film buffs may remember the scene from the 1974 movie underbolt and Lightfoot where a car crashes through the front window of the Paris building (the Clint Eastwood picture was filmed on location in and around the area). e Paris focused on fashion in the '80s as the Bon Marche department store moved in, reigning over the downtown retail scene. e Bon also featured a popular French bistro on the mezzanine level. e building began to modernize, transitioning to a more tech-forward operation that housed a call center with several hundred cubicles. With the expanded electrical capacity throughout the building, each floor could house an independent tech-focused business.
