Other concepts include The Happy Hoagie gourmet sandwich shop from Las Vegas restaurant veteran Eric Perlin; a donut and beignet shop called Saint Honoré; acclaimed San Francisco-based scoop shop Smitten Ice Cream, which has a patented process for quick-freezing ice cream on site; and Diane's Bloody Mary Bar, operated out of a vintage airstream trailer in the outdoor area of The Sundry.—M.H. Mark Hamstra is a regular contributor to Specialty Food and SFA News Daily. George Hajjar is associate, content development for the Specialty Food Association. America's Most Exceptional Grocery Store Meow Wolf's Omega Mart is in the Area15 complex in Las Vegas, an experimental entertainment district near the Strip. It is an immersive art installation that plays on the traditional grocery store concept. Custom-made products from over 325 artists are displayed and available for purchase which poke fun at conventional offerings, like "Organic Moth Milk" and "Nut Free Salted Peanuts." The concept began as a DIY pop-up grocery store exhibit in 2009 and continued with temporary installations until finding its permanent home in February 2021. Winter Fancy Food Show visitors can sign up for a tour. Go to specialtyfood.com, Shows & Events and look under After Hours Events.—G.H.
