A particular highlight Ron is willing to disclose is Olaf C. Seltzer's
Return at Twilight, an oil painting that captures the essence
of Western art through its depiction of Native American
riders against a backdrop of mesmerizing purple, blue,
and green hues. e auction also celebrates the works of
notable Native American artists, featuring pieces by Jaune
Quick-To-See Smith, Assiniboine artist William Standing, Spokane
Tribe artist George Fle, and Apache artist Allan Houser.
Beyond paintings, the auction will also present a range of Western artifacts and
memorabilia, including two Edward H. Bohlin silver mounted parade saddles and
a Conrad Ulrich engraved 1866 Winchester rifle. A noteworthy nineteenth-century
Crow shirt owned by Chief White Bull and an expanded collection of weavings from
Arizona and New Mexico are also among the items set to impress aendees.
Highlighting the significance of their offerings, Ron draws aention to the
provenance and market appreciation of specific pieces. " We also have a fantastic
collection of John L. Clarke wood carvings. Over the last couple of years,
the market for these has really done well," he comments, adding that
some pieces were directly sourced from the Clarke family in Boston
and Memphis. "It's funny how items get spread out across the country
over the years, but it's nice that now these woodcarvings are coming
back to Montana since Clarke lived around the Glacier National
Park area," notes Ron.
