'It's very time-consuming, but it gives me the look I want. It's especially nice for creating fur and feathers, but you have to scratch out each hair,' Mimi says. 'You can do some scenery, but you can't really do white fluffy clouds with it. At least I haven't yet figured out how,' she laughs." Mimi's prowess and meticulous crasmanship shine through in works like "One of ose Days," where a grizzly bear sow commands aention as she guards her three cubs nestled in the safety of a tree's branches. Grateful for Peter's unwavering support of local artisans, Mimi finds joy in sharing her creations with patrons of the Hotel Arvon, especially during Western Art Week. "e art you see in the hotel is not your typical mass-produced hotel art," she affirms. "ere's a real person behind each piece," Mimi emphasizes, underscoring the intimate connection between artist and artwork that infuses every corner of this distinguished establishment. Oil painter Paige Weber brings a fresh perspective to the hotel's collection, expressing gratitude to Peter for the opportunity to showcase her art. "I'm so grateful to Peter for the opportunity to display my work. It means a lot to me," she acknowledges. Although currently residing in Pocatello, Idaho, Paige's roots trace back to Great Falls, where her artistic journey blossomed. Reflecting on her artistic inspiration, Paige credits her time in Great Falls for igniting her passion for painting animals and wildlife. "I was fascinated by all the birds in the area, and then we also started going to national parks. Great Falls really sparked that interest," she recalls. Her affinity for animals stems from a deep-seated curiosity about their inner worlds and their interactions with humans and each other. Among Paige's notable pieces in the hotel is "Between the Woods," a triptych featuring a majestic bison inspired by a bull she encountered in Yellowstone National Park. Another standout piece is " Wild Bunch," which holds special significance for the artist.
