e Garden of One ousand Buddhas
Another amazing spiritual center is fieen minutes down the road
from St. Ignatius, north of Arlee. e Garden of One ousand
Buddhas is a public park, botanical garden, and Buddhist center that
welcomes visitors year-round.
Colorful, yet peaceful, the garden architecture and location result
from a prophetic vision that Tulke Sang-ngag Rinpoche had as a
child, manifested when he discovered the area while on a teaching
trip to Montana. Set against the Mission Mountains, the extensive
architectural forms with Buddhist symbolism include 1,000 Buddhas,
circled by 1,000 stupas, and a 24-foot figure of "e Great Mother" at
the center. An information center and gi shop features local cras,
imported treasure from Nepal, and Buddhist shrine items.
Parking for the garden is located at 34756 White Coyote Road.
