Wareham's creative process begins with an old photograph
with compelling elements – people along city streets, a well-
known building, or a horse-drawn wagon on Hamilton Street.
en, she traces the photo onto a transparent plate so she can
get the right angle when taking the present-day photo to line
up with the historic photo when it is layered in Photoshop.
Next, she goes to the original photo site to capture a new image.
Wareham prefers shooting in the so light of dawn or dusk or
on cloudy days to add to the mood of the photo.
Beyond her Layers of Time series, Wareham applies her
unique, artistic touch to various portrait projects, including
a "Tweens" series designed to bolster self-confidence among
young adolescents through positive imagery and affirmations.
As the mother of two tween boys and an eight-year-old, she's
expanding her focus to include more sessions for boys.
Photos take on a new life with Wareham's skill as a photographer and photo
editor, shown in this shot showcasing the Finlen Hotel.
Wareham's photographic artistry extends beyond Montana, as seen in this
captivating image of Spearfish Falls in South Dakota, showcasing her skill in
capturing the serene beauty of natural landscapes.
Wareham's method of merging historical and contemporary images
begins with tracing essential elements of the old photo onto
a transparency.
