DANCE OPEN HOUSE + DANCE CLASS INFO DANCE WITH ME BALLET - Child w/adult (Ages 2-3) For young dancers and their adult caregivers who want to experience dance class to- gether, learn ballet basics, and make friends! Adults will participate with their dancers. BITTY BALLET (Ages 3.5-4) Dancers will experience the basics of ballet while meeting new friends! Dancers attend without parent and must be potty trained. TEENY BOP HIP HOP (Ages 4-6) Dancers who love to move and groove will do that in this energetic class. Learn the basics of being in dance class, an introduction to hip-hop dance vocabulary, and dance to pop music. TEENY JAZZ/HIP HOP (Ages 4-6) Dancers will learn the basics of jazz and hip hop terminology in this fun and feel good class. This class will introduce dancers to dance through movement and rhythm skills. BALLET A (Ages 5-6) and BALLET B (Ages 7-9) Students will develop knowledge of and practice ballet terminology, body alignment, coordination, and fl exibility. While building strength and poise, dancers will explore artistry through musicality and developmentally appropriate skills. Ballet B includes fl oor and center work. BALLET/TAP COMBO (Ages 5-7) Learn the basics of ballet and tap with an emphasis on correct technique, terminology, and dance class discipline. Dancers will boogie, tap, create rhythm, leap, spin, and soar in this fun combo class! Hip Hop (Ages 7-9) + TWEEN HIP HOP (Ages 10-12) + Teen Hip Hop (Ages 13-16) High-energy classes introduce students to the fundamentals of Hip Hop including con- cepts like breaking, popping, locking, house, and more. Class will encourage students to develop musicality and artistry. TEEN JAZZ (Ages 13-16) Learn the basics of jazz with an emphasis on correct technique, terminology, and dance class discipline. Dancers will focus on alignment, coordination, strength, and expression. CONTEMPORARY (Ages 7-9) This class is a fusion of dance styles including ballet, jazz, and modern. Dancers will learn the foundation of these styles and how they can be connected to the music. The class will include a warm-up that develops strength, fl exibility, and coordination. TWEEN CONTEMPORARY (Ages 10-12) This class is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern styles. Dancers will continue the foundations of these styles all while learning to use the music for expression. The class will include a warm-up that develops strength, fl exibility, and coordination. TEEN CONTEMPORARY (Ages 13-16) In this class, we will encourage individual expression and style with a focus on en- tertainment and showmanship. Dancers will learn to tell a story with both movement and music together. Class will include a warm-up that develops strength, fl exibility, coordination, and dance techniques. BROOK LEUCHT DANCE COORDINATOR/INSTRUCTOR Brook began her dance journey in Colorado at age two. She attended the Denver School of the Arts for high school and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the California Institute of the Arts. She taught at various studios before managing the North Shore School of Dance. After a break to get married and start a family, Brook has joyfully embraced a pivotal teaching role at the Morton Grove Park District, rekindling her love for teaching. JASMINE WILLIAMS DANCE INSTRUCTOR Jasmine began dancing at three in Georgia, exploring ballet, tap, and contemporary. Moving to Illinois at 12, she developed a passion for hip hop. She immersed herself in dance, becoming a coach and performer. While studying early childhood education in Georgia, she continued her hip hop and jazz training. Back in Illinois, Jasmine taught at dance academies in Chicago and now teaches at the Morton Grove Park District. Her goal is to instill confi dence and integrity in students, helping them thrive in their dance journeys. ALISHA POTTER DANCE INSTRUCTOR Alisha co-founded North Shore Dance and Theater Group in 1994. She studied with renowned fi gures like Gus Giordano and Ruth Page. Holding a BA in education with minors in Dance and Drama and an MS in Fine Arts Curriculum, Alisha has led competition groups to venues like Disney and Navy Pier. She has worked as a choreographer, dancer, actor, producer, director, and costumer. Currently, she teaches K-2 ELL in School District 75 and Ballet at the Morton Grove Park District.
