SIGNATURE MONTANA | 15 e Bryan Group's vision focuses on high-quality crasmanship along with innovative designs that contribute to the beerment of their local community. To accomplish this, each member brings a distinct skill set. Originally drawn to Bozeman for MSU's architecture program, Van K. Bryan and his family have resided and worked there since 1986. While Van's design firm, Studio Architects, caters to custom home design based on client input, the impetus for e Bryan Group shis the paradigm away from client input to complete creative freedom for the design team. In doing so, Van's architectural designs take risks and are innovative in ways formerly unfamiliar to their local market. Van says, "By being our own clients, so to speak, we have the opportunity to explore our own design interests and ideas." Collaborative Family Effort Wallis Morger Bryan's expertise lies in real estate. She says, "Being curious is part of my job. I am always asking questions. I have a unique perspective because I deal with buyers and sellers every day. I know what homes are coming on the market, so I can see what buyers are looking at. I also see trends in design, which is always evolving." For design features, Wallis says they like to stay one step ahead. To do so, they rely on Shayne. Shayne Bryan recalls being a creative kid with interests in art and music. But she never thought her parents' careers influenced her until she reached her late 20s to mid-30s. She says, "en I realized their career choices did influence me. I like architecture, I like looking at buildings and beautiful houses. But for me, it's what is on the inside of the home: how spaces and different locations This Bozeman home's neighborhood went through regentrification. The use of glass emphasizes the indoor/outdoor connection. "It's so integral to who we are as Montanans," says Wallis. The Bryan Group's architecture is led by an understanding of scale and proportion, the interconnectedness of spaces, and how those spaces make people feel.
