20 P astor Matt Goodsell was named global direc- tor for North America this year and in that post, is leading expansion efforts in U.S. states and Canada. Pastor Matt comes to this position with an already proven track record. Last year while serving as assistant North America global director, he recruited seven new ministry leaders. As global director, one of his first ini- tiatives was to institute the two- by-two ministry leader policy for state legislative ministries. At the International Recruiting and Training Conference held in D.C. Pastor Matt announced that ministry leaders should recruit a ministry partner to work alongside them in keeping with the exam- ple of New Testament leaders, Paul and Timothy. Ralph has long endorsed this ministry model. Pastor Matt is also the Missouri state ministry leader and teaches weekly Bible studies to leg- islators, legislative aides, and Capitol staff. Also this year, Pastor Brian Solomon stepped down as North America global director to accept the post of global director of training. One of his first ini- tiatives was to create training manuals based on Ralph's teachings for use at our training events. e material for the manuals came from a series of video recordings of Ralph teaching CapMin's proprietary methodolog y of how to estab- lish and sustain ministries to political leaders—intensely biblical proce- dures that have been tested and proven effective over more than 28 years of ministry. Since 1996, CapMin has planted ministries in 43 states. is year, minis- tries were launched in Kansas, Washington State, Iowa, Vermont, Oklahoma, and Maryland. CapMin's Bible-study based ministries to state leaders can impact the future. Public ser- vants who are well anchored in God's Word on the state level are well-equipped for the oen rough and tumble world of national politics if they ascend to higher office. Studies show that the national leaders of tomorrow— senators, rep- resentatives, judges, and White House Cabinet members among them—largely come from the state governments of today. state capitol ministries "… And you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles." M a t t h e w 1 0 :18 "Ralph and Danielle lead our Bible Study. Republicans and Democrats alike come together to learn and grow in our faith. This once-a-week opportunity provides an atmosphere of trust and learning. This is a time to examine our spiritual needs, study the Bible, and reflect on the graces received from our Lord and Savior." Mike Rounds U.S. Senator, South Dakota
