6 from the president (continued) He shared that the Holy Spirit birthed in him the ex- act same vision he gave to Danielle and me a quarter of a century ago—to teach the Gospel to political leaders. What a sobering and amazing realization that was to us! Also in the fall, we traveled to Bogota, Colombia where we commissioned our new ministry leader, Pastor José Villanueva, and his teammate wife, Clara, for the start of their ministry in the federal capitol. Aerward we met with Colombian Evangelical lead- ers at a special luncheon wherein they promised that if we came back and held our Latin America training conference in Bogota in the fall of 2024, they would have ministry leader candidates from all 24 state cap- itols. As I write this, they have worked hard to fulfill their promise and we plan to train all of them—plus all our established Latin America federal capitol ministry leaders—in November of 2024! CapMin strengthened our infrastructure this year by adding men in key positions for future double-digit expansion. We also concentrated on expanding Local Government Ministries (LGM), our initiative to part- ner with the local church to establish weekly disciple- ship Bible studies to the 500,000 city and county of- fice holders in the 40,000 incorporated communities across America. If you've heard me speak, you will know that one of my top concerns pertains to why American society is in a moral freefall. A main reason is because for decades, the church has neglected evangelizing and discipling the men and women who lead our nation. Evangelism was replaced with lobbying for better laws. e conse- quences of that errant missiolog y is an increasing god- less society dominated by secular lawmakers who do not know Him. So that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity (1 Timothy 2:2) is preceded by evangelism, not moralism in the context of the passage. We are humbled and astonished at how God has blessed this ministry in 2023. And as you read this re- port of CapMin's achievements, I want you to remem- ber how important you are to me, Danielle, our Board of Directors, our ministry leaders, and our staff. We so value your partnership. But most of all, please remem- ber how important you are to the too-oen-forgotten public servants who are leading cities, counties, states, and nations—the Christian men and women who des- perately need our ministry, as well as the lost souls who urgently need to know the truth. Your participation fuels our passion that lights our way to them. We are so grateful. ank you and God bless you. In His Ministry, Ralph Drollinger "It is very beneficial for lawmak- ers to be involved in a serious Bible study. We should look to the Bible for examples of leaders. In fact, when Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel spoke to a joint session of Congress he looked up from the speaker's rostrum and saw Moses staring down at him. Here is the face of Moses who provided the law. "Capitol Ministries Bible study has been very helpful to me personally. I enjoy the account- ability of a weekly study that keeps us in the Word, as well as the interaction and fellowship with other members which is a real encouragement." Steve Daines U.S. Senator, Montana GOP Campaign Chairman
