FIRST PLACE / POWDER ROOM
Knotty Potty — The objective of the new
design was to be cohesive with the recently
remodeled kitchen, to incorporate authentic
natural materials, and to create an unexpected
experience.
Design solutions included a mirror peeking
through wall slabs to create a more spacious
feeling, accent backlighting to create drama, while
off-center pendant lighting provided a second
level of lighting. Petrified wood floors cut from a
solid slab in India created a continuous pattern
while simplifying installation by cutting the slab
into 24"x24" pieces. Thunder grey finish on the
toilet helped it blend into the moody color palette
so it didn't distract from the cohesive look.
Special Features:
• One-of-a-kind quartz onyx sink created an
additional focal point, adding to their collection
of natural gemstones throughout the home.
• Industrial steel pedestal provided sufficient
support for the heavy stone sink, while adding
to the funky aesthetic and keeping the focal wall
more visible.
• Wall-mounted industrial pipe faucet installed
through mirror glass for a seamless floating
effect.
• Teal glass bead wallpaper mimics the sparkle of
the gemstone collections throughout the home.
• Floating shelf was cut from wall slabs and
mounted on focal wall to keep the design fluid
while still providing a surface for bath
accessories.
• Custom amethyst soap dispenser completed
the natural gemstone collectors' feel.
