PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Dear Morton Grove residents,
I am pleased to share several exciting updates that refl ect our Park District's
continued commitment to investing in our community and enhancing the spaces we
all enjoy.
This April, renovations at National Park will offi cially begin. These long-anticipated
improvements are made possible through an Open Space Lands Acquisition and
Development (OSLAD) grant awarded by the State of Illinois. This critical funding
allows us to move forward with meaningful upgrades that will enhance accessibility,
usability, and the overall park experience for residents of all ages. We are grateful for
the State's partnership and support in bringing this project to life.
Looking ahead, Prairie View Park has also been awarded an OSLAD grant to
support a comprehensive renovation. Construction drawings and planning eff orts are
underway, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027. This investment ensures
that Prairie View Park will continue to serve the community for generations to come,
off ering modern amenities while preserving the character of this valued green space.
These accomplishments are especially meaningful as we celebrate the Park
District's 75th anniversary. For three-quarters of a century, the Park District
has proudly served the community by maintaining high-quality parks, providing
diverse recreational opportunities, and enhancing quality of life for residents. From
playgrounds and athletic fi elds to programs, events, and open spaces, our mission
has always been to meet the evolving parks and recreation needs of our community.
On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, thank you for your continued support,
engagement, and trust. We look forward to celebrating our history, investing in our
future, and continuing to serve you for many years to come.
Sincerely,
John Liston
President
