Full Moon — This powder bath remodel was an
exercise in blending form and function with a moody
atmosphere – warm yet contemporary to transform
the small, lackluster space.
Design Solutions
• Architectural walnut slats with floating walnut/steel
vanity add warmth and texture
• Moon-shaped backlit mirror creates celestial
experience
• Matte black porcelain tile flooring with brass
inserts in a random pattern extends behind toilet,
blending into dark backdrop and underscoring the
bathroom's sophisticated asymmetry
• Angular pendant light accentuates the architectural
break in the feature wall
• Teal concrete sink matches painted surfaces
• Sassy feminine artwork completes the mood
• Floating furniture became the vanity to keep cost
down; blocking was added to increase depth and
support the structure
• Rich moody colors create drama, with backlighting
and feminine art for a sultry feel
Special Features
• Walls and ceiling painted to match teal sink basin
• Walnut wall slats add architectural appeal
• Matte-black faucet with ribbed design as a nod to
the walnut wall slats
• Matte-black porcelain tile with brass metal insert
in random pattern to continue the asymmetrical
space
• Asymmetrical tile up the wall behind the toilet for a
contemporary twist that blends the toilet into the
dark color to be less noticeable
