51 "Ministering to city and county public servants is crucial. ese are our neighbors, people who work in our backyard and to reach their hearts for the Lord is the call of our mission. I've been meeting with many of them one-on-one, sharing Bible studies and praying for them, their families, and issues they're dealing with. ese people are across the spectrum from atheist to strong believer, and aer they learn there is no ulterior motive, every response has been positive. e other day I met with an atheist whom I've been sharing Bible studies with, and I offered to pray about an issue he was having. And he said, 'Torrey, if you could pray for that, it would be great.' "An atheist asked for prayer. "I see this as a wonderful sign. It's a matter of keeping our hands to the plough and continuing to build relationships and letting Christ lead our conversations because He's doing the work." TORREY LEWIS Local Government Ministries Regional Director, Northwest "It opened my eyes to the fact that government officials are an unreached people group." CONFERENCE PARTICIPANT
