ABOUT US
BRIEF HISTORY In 1984 the Morton Grove Historical Society (founded in 1970) in partnership with the Morton Grove Park District,
purchased and moved the Haupt-Yehl House. It was built in 1888 and relocated from its original location on Lincoln Avenue and
McVicker to its present site in Harrer Park. The Historical Society and Park District cooperate in maintaining and operating the
Museum and Education Center. The museum collects and displays artifacts of signifi cance to Morton Grove, including those of
the original inhabitants, early settlers and of more recent additions to the community. Learn about the rich history and vitality of
Morton Grove and all who lived here by contacting the museum. The Morton Grove Historical Museum opened to the public in 1986
followed by the Education Center in 2008.
