DEAN
Indiana University Kokomo is seeking an innovative, energetic and proven leader to serve as the Dean of the School
of Business. The AACSB accredited School offers an MBA program, a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in accounting, finance and economics, management, and marketing and houses the Center of Economic Education. The
dean is expected to be an excellent teacher and academically or professionally qualified according to the School's
standards. The Dean of the School of Business reports directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for the position a candidate must:
•
have earned a doctorate from an accredited institution in one of the disciplines taught at IU Kokomo's School of Business;
•
have a record of excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with appointment to full professor (tenure is subject to approval by IU's
Board of Trustees);
•
show a commitment to:
° shared governance and collaboration
° academic excellence and student success
diversity regional economic development
°
°
•
show evidence of success in:
° obtaining external funding including gifts, grants, and/or contracts and in the development and maintenance of positive working relationships
with businesses, donors, alumni, faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders
° curriculum development, program expansion, student recruitment and retention, faculty recruitment and development, and fiscal management
Preferred Qualifications: an earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited institution. Preference will also be given to candidates with administrative and supervisory
experience, as well as experience with the current maintenance of accreditation standards of AACSB International.
Salary: Salary is AACSB peer competitive with Indiana University benefits.
Starting Date: This is a 12-month appointment that will begin on January 1, 2014. Start date is negotiable.
