SUKHI'S GOURMET INDIAN FOODS
Pakora & Aloo Tikki Indian Bites Platter
INSPIRED BY FAMILY RECIPES, SUKHI'S GOURMET INDIAN FOODS focuses
on bringing Indian cuisine to the American table in the way Americans like
to eat. For their latest creation, an appetizer platter seemed like a good
idea, explains Sanjog Sikand, sales and marketing director for Sukhi's, since
Americans love to eat small bites before sitting down for dinner, he says.
The appetizer plate includes creamy potatoes (aloo tikki) stuffed with peas
and spinach, and potato fritters (pakora) paired with Sukhi's popular cilantro and tamarindginger chutney. Pakora and Aloo Tikki are traditional Indian bites served as tea snacks, hors
d'oeuvres at special events and as street food. They are also kid-friendly in flavor and size.
Sikand credits the current popularity of Indian food to American trends such as
vegetarianism and gluten-free foods. "A lot of our cuisine is gluten-free by nature," Sikand
says. "Indian food is finding its way into the lifestyle of America."
Company founder (and Sikand's mother) Sukhi Singh's love of food has turned into
an award-winning Indian specialty food business. The company's extensive product line
includes three other sofi Winners: Sukhi's Chicken Samosas & Chutney, Sukhi's Potato
Samosas with Cilantro Chutney and Sukhi's Tikka Masala Sauce. Wholesale price: $59.99/30
appetizers and two 6-ounce chutneys. Contact: Sanjog Sikand, Sukhi's Gourmet Indian
