Available in dairy cases nationwide, Grassmilk is produced on family farms, where the cows eat only fresh grasses and dried forages, like hay, and no supplemental grains or soybeans. Organic Valley, founded in 1988, is made up of 1,834 organic farmers in Wisconsin. foodservice Greater Philadelphia Schools Get Smart Lunches Starting this school year, online company Smart Lunches is providing healthy meals for students in the greater Philadelphia area. The Boston-based company already delivers its meals to more than 140 elementary and middle schools, summer camps, and year-round daycare and early childhood education centers in southern New England. The company now makes daily deliveries to the Philadelphia region's inaugural partner schools, including Benchmark School and Media-Providence Friends School in Media, Pa., and Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in West Chester, Pa. Parents and staff go online to order a variety of hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks from menus automatically customized for their school calendar as well as their individual taste preferences and food allergies. While the company contracts directly with parents at these schools, it gives back a share of its annual revenues to the facilities as part of the partnership.
