New Openings New breakfast and lunch restaurant Pickle Jar Kitchen, Falmouth, Mass., offers products ranging from house-cured pickled veggies to baked items supplied by Butterqueen Cakes of East Falmouth. The restaurant is decorated with hanging lights made from canning jars, old-fashioned counter stools and display cases, and a huge framed picture of downtown Falmouth from the early 1900s. … Los Angeles bakery Crème Caramel L.A. was founded by Kristine de la Cruz, who had established her local reputation by selling internationally inspired desserts at farmers markets around L.A. She designed her new storefront to be an artisanal urban bodega featuring local products, coffee, sweets and eats, many of which she encountered through her work at the farmers markets. … Meat Lodge has opened its second Sioux Falls, S.D., location. The store sells fresh and frozen beef, pork, poultry and seafood, and also carries appetizers, meat rubs and specialty food items. In addition to three retail locations (which includes the Yankton, S.D., Lewis & Clark Meat Store), Meat Lodge supplies restaurants, distributors and processors. … New York City's Lady M Confections has arrived in Los Angeles, serving up gourmet cakes and pastries including its signature mille crepe cake, made with 20 sheets of crepes layered with pastry cream. The founder of the shop recently opened two new Manhattan locations and will debut a Singapore sweets shop next month. … Charleston, W.V.'s new bakery Sugar Rush offers cupcakes in regular and mini sizes, breads, candies and cakes. The store also sells pies prepared for the shop by a local resident with several blue ribbons to her credit. Shop owner Jolene Carroll plans to offer gluten-free products at least twice weekly.
