RETAILOBSERVER.COM MARCH 2014 28 A recent survey has found the main reason people remodel their kitchen is to improve its overall look and feel, followed closely by the desire to improve the function of the space 1 . Consumers seek products that can be seamlessly integrated into their home, while offering the latest features and the best performance available. Understanding this trend, and the fact that the number of luxury consumers is expected to increase by 60 million over the next 10 years 2 , GE is taking luxury products to the next level. Its recently introduced Monogram ® dishwasher was designed for the senses and built to perform, allowing your customers to not only see, but also hear the luxury that this new appliance has to offer. HEAR LUXURY For the past two years, GE has carefully worked to provide Monogram, along with each of the company's four appliance brands, with its own unique sonic palette. The result is an elegant piano number that reflects the Monogram consumer. Harsh beeps and buzzes have been replaced by classical audio sounds for notifications such as end of cycle and power on. With its new soundtrack and a low dBA of 39 during wash and dry cycles, the Monogram dishwasher delivers the sound consumers want and nearly eliminates the noise they don't. "Adding a complementary sound element can enhance everyday interactions with your appliances," said Lou Lenzi, industrial designer for GE Appliances. "The fit, feel, finish—and now sound—of the dishwasher evoke the luxury of the Monogram brand." SEE LUXURY The GE Monogram dishwasher's luxury features don't stop with its soundtrack. Boasting 54 percent more cleaning jets than any other luxury dishwasher, including jets designed to clean the insides of wine glasses, champagne flutes, sports bottles and other hard-to- reach containers, the dishwasher makes cleanup easier than ever. A reversing wash arm ensures complete coverage of dishes, glassware and silverware from top to bottom. Emphasis was placed on quality and craftsmanship, which a recent survey found to be critical factors to consumers shopping for luxury 3 . ADDITIONAL FEATURES Flexibility in a dishwasher is important as every customer has unique dishes and serving utensils that need to be cleaned. The new Monogram dishwasher aims to address their challenges with a third rack that is perfect for cutlery and other flat kitchen utensils, a Max Dry setting that uses a powerful multispeed fan for intensified drying performance, and fold-down tines that give consumers the flexibility to configure the racks to accommodate large or odd-shaped items. AVAILABILITY The new ENERGY STAR ® -qualified/CEE-qualified GE Monogram dishwasher (models ZDT870SSF, ZDT870SPF, ZDT870SIF ), assembled in Louisville, KY., has an MSRP of $1,799 4 and is available now. The dishwasher fits into cabinet frames for flush installation. Front panels come in stainless steel or can be customized to match cabinetry. 1. 2014 Luxury Daily http://www.luxurydaily.com/ number-of-luxury-consumers-to-reach-440- million-by-2020-report/ 2. 2013 Houzz http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/19056290/list/A-New-Houzz-Survey-Reveals- What-You-Really-Want-in-Your-Kitchen 3. 2014 Luxury Daily http://www.luxurydaily.com/number-of-luxury-consumers-to-reach-440- million-by-2020-report/ 4.
