FBC Approves QMI Hurricane and Security Screens The Florida Building Commission has approved StormSafe operable and fixed hurricane and security screen systems by QMI Security Solutions, Itasca, IL. FBC approval FL 16123 was issued in December 2012 for QMIʼs screen systems up to 61 in. by 144 in. in size. The low-pro- file shaped or rectangular fixed screen frames are 2 7/16 in. wide and 1 1/8 in. deep. Egress screens have a continuous hinge on one side and a panic bar on the other. Egress frames are 3 3/4 in. wide and 2 13/16 in. deep. QMI StormSafe screens comply with the 2010 Wind Zone 4, missile level D, with a design pressure up to +80.0/-80.0.
