Lew Brown a preview The Controlled Release Society (CRS) holds its 41st annual meeting July 13-16 in Chicago, IL. This year's theme, "Translation of Delivery Tech - nology: Innovation to Commer ciali - zation," focuses on the efficient scale-up and implementation of drug de livery innovations. Approximately half of the estimated 1,300 attendees hail from industry and the other half from acade- mia and government. Geogra phically, about 50 percent come from North America; 25 percent, the Pacific Rim; 23 percent, Europe; and 2 percent, other parts of the world. Nearly 100 companies are regis- tered to exhibit on the show floor; the educational conference offers sci- entific sessions, workshops, plenary lectures, mini-symposia, roundtable discussions, technology forums, and poster sessions.
