BACK AND BIGGER THAN EVER
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dwell is pleased to have American designer Stephen
Burks as the keynote speaker for Dwell on Design 2014.
ON THE SHOW FLOOR
New to DOD this year are four DOD PAVILIONS:
• ENERGY 360 PAVILION / TECHNOLOGY PAVILION:
The pavilion showcases new technologies that
advance the built environment, focusing on smart
home technology. The goal is to help our audience live
better, and be better informed about the energy
choices they make.
• UNIVERSAL DESIGN/DESIGN FOR HUMANKIND:
This series track is devoted to issues that explore
how good design makes our lives better by protecting
our quality of life. We span topics from Aging in Place
to Accessible Design. Also, a Universal Design home
on the show floor will demonstrate accessible UD
elements like "smart carpets," which utilize sensors
to determine unusual foot patterns or if someone
has fallen.
• SCANDINAVIAN PAVILION: Dwell celebrates the
unique modern design heritage found in Norway,
Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, inviting young
designers, furniture and technology companies and
product manufacturers to share their latest creations
and concepts.
• MODERN FAMILY PAVILION: This pavilion offers
innovative architecture and design solutions that
address the myriad needs, configurations, and
challenges that make a house a home.
KITCHEN & BATH
Experience the latest kitchen and bath design trends in
live cooking demonstrations and creative installations.
Dwell on Design celebrates kitchens and baths by
dedicating thousands of square feet of space solely to
ideas beautifying and modernizing those hardworking
rooms. Whether you merely seek a fresh accessory or
are planning a floor-to-ceiling overhaul, you will
discover myriad options from cabinets to appliances
and sinks to fixtures. The boldfaced names in the
industry, such as Miele, Dacor, Dwell Design Week
sponsor TOTO, and Kohler, will return to reveal brand-
new designs. In addition, look for live cooking
demonstrations on the show floor.
