To achieve the design elements desired by the homeowners, O'Such worked closely with the Angstadts. And, when it came to the windows, the team also worked closely with Simonton. "I have a design business, so I was extremely involved in the overall blueprint of our Avalon home," says Ang- stadt. "In the windows I wanted unique grids. Simonton allowed me the flexibility to design my own custom grids for our windows. These turned out exactly as I envisioned." In addition to the unique grids, Angstadt wanted decorative white trim on the exterior of her home to match the beachy setting. She and the architect selected the new construction ProFinish Brickmould 600 windows and patio doors that gave the home the classic styling of wood windows with an attractive multi-tiered exterior made of white vinyl. When completed, this seaside retreat had it all: aesthetic appeal, low-maintenance, energy-efficiency, sound dampening, crime protection assistance and protection at the threat of severe weather.
