"With the exception of women, there is nothing on earth so agreeable or necessary to the comfort of man as the dog. " ~ Edward Jesse, "Anecdote of Dogs" German Shepherd Yasco and Elliott, an Irish Setter, have the estate jewelry business down cold. Owned by father and son John and Josh Bonifas of Fourtané, this pair knows that to be successful, one must possess both people skills and back-office savvy. Elliott is the canine face of the shop, an extrovert who greets visi- tors and wanders around the store. "He's very affectionate," John Bonifas says. "Sometimes he just walks up and leans on a customer." Yasco, on the other hand, is more studious. "He is of royal European breeding," says Josh. "That doesn't make him snobby, but he prefers to sit with me in the back office." "He's a delight," says his owner, Madrigal Sales Associate Luisa. "He's gentle and well-mannered." Luisa rescued Mr. Snuggles almost two years ago, and he shows his appreciation at all times. "He loves everyone." Luisa says. "He's wonderful with everyone in the store, greets all our customers and loves to have his tummy rubbed." He's also highly social in the canine world, getting along famously with Madrigal owner Marian Mizelle's beloved Cardigan Welsh Corgis when they're in the shop.
